The breeding course of starts with constructing a nest wherein both the male and female take part. Nesting begins one to 3 months earlier than the mating season. If they've efficiently produced and protected their younger on the nest, they will use that same nest every year. They engage in a courtship display that includes swooping flight, circling, and cartwheeling within the air, adopted by copulation.
